I am Esther, the American Newbie! In 2011 I made the same decision, I left Benin (West Africa), my native land, and embarked on the scariest and most exciting journey of my life; to study in the U.S.A., the land of the free and the home of brave. At that time, I had no idea how much this single decision would impact me and those around me.
Since being in the U.S.A, I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Finance, an MBA in Finance, and I am now working at an awesome tech company. Successfully integrating into American culture was instrumental to my success.
I know adjusting to a new country is overwhelming! There were times when I found myself confused, doubtful and frustrated. Just like you, I wanted to not just survive but succeed in America.
